Physiotherapists are primary health care providers that have extensive knowledge and training on how the body moves and functions. More importantly, Physiotherapists have a thorough understanding on what prevents the body from moving and functioning well. A physiotherapy assessment involves a detailed history taking followed by a physical examination. A physical exam may include observation of movement, assessment of range of motion, strength, stability, and biomechanics. Following an assessment, a client centered treatment plan is established based on the problems and goals that are identified from the assessment. Treatment may include manual therapy such as joint mobilization/manipulation, myofascial treatment, ultrasound and electro modalities, acupuncture, dry needling/trigger point needling, as well as therapeutic stretches and strengthening exercises. The ultimate goal of physiotherapy is to promote a return to an active lifestyle as well as to reach a maximum level of function.

Massages offered include:

-Swedish Massage
Classic relaxation massage designed to reduce muscle tension and stress producing a state of well-being by stimulating nerve endings, increasing blood flow and lymph drainage.
-Deep Tissue Massage
Muscle adhesions (knots) are rigid and cause pain. This requires deeper pressure into the muscle tissue to release tension to help reduce inflammation, stiffness and pain. This type of massage is beneficial in treating TMJ Syndrome.
-Pregnancy Massage
Massage designed to relax and relieve aches and pains associated with the hormonal changes that effects the body during the gestational period. Promotes relaxation for the mom-to-be.
-Hot Stone Massage
Hot stones have been used for centuries to relieve muscle soreness. Massage therapy uses heated stones that warms muscle and soft tissue resulting in a much deeper, more relaxing experience. This therapy increases blood and lymph circulation and promotes mobility and flexibility. (Contraindicated for pregnancy, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, AIDS, acute phases of Cancer)
-Cupping Massage
An ancient Chinese practice utilizing suction cups that are placed on various areas of the body. The results are reduced inflammation, aids in blood flow, and an increase in joint range of motion.
